Crows, hummingbirds, hillsides, barns, all the flowers blooming in spring, kids laughing, the anticipation of berry season remind me the world’s still spinning. In this group of paintings I navigate how to move through a world so disconnected and troubled. Where do we find love, respect, and safety? I’m embracing beauty at a time when the world is more off kilter every day in nonsensical ways, dangerous ways. But we also have to make connections and continue to spread love. Painting, being creative, helps release the anxiety and works like a good scream session. My soundtrack while I painted for this show was a lot of Tom Waits, Orville Peck, and French pop artists like Fabienne DelSol.

Curious Untamed Blooms is a jump into the deep end of vibrant color and wild marks, celebrating the curious beauty of flowers -- but with a twist. Dayna has painted a series of abstracted florals in oil and cold wax using brush work, palette knives, and paint pigment sticks. Her flowers are delicate and bold, tender yet strong, as well as humorous, imaginative, and joyful.
